Oscars favor HMMA picks

The nominees for the 87th Academy Awards were announced Thursday, January 15th. Following a recurring trend this awards season, HMMA nominees and winners are in the mix. Two of the Oscar nominees for Best Original Song, "Lost Stars" (Begin Again) written by Gregg Alexander & Danielle Brisebois and "Everything is Awesome" (The Lego Movie) written by Shawn Patterson, both won at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards three months ago.  Following suit are HMMA nominees for Best Score; Alexandre Desplat (The Imitation Game), Hans Zimmer (Interstellar) and Jóhann Jóhannsson (The Theory of Everything). HMMA Increasing Music in Visual Media Submissions

HMMA has increased its submissions for music in visual media more than all previous years combined due to the global response of artists being recognized in this area. Both mainstream and emerging feature film and TV composers have received recognition for their work with HMMA, which has increased their viability and their value in the marketplace as composers. Submissions for music in visual media are held in monthly rounds with deadlines at the end of each month. HOLLYWOOD, CA- Nov 22, 2013: The Hollywood Music in Media Awards upped its game again this year at The Fonda Theater. With a jam-packed red carpet, the event excited all in attendance. The Awards event evening proved wildly entertaining for the audience, opening with a performance spectacle by Pop winner Amy Weber.  Anchor host Adam Gaynor, formerly of Matchbox 20, kept the show moving with his self-deprecating brand of humor. Marco Beltrami Wins Best Original Score-Feature Film

(West Hollywood, CA) November 19, 2012 - Two- time Academy-Award™ nominee Marco Beltrami, the composer of the recent Clint Eastwood film Trouble with the Curve, was honored with Best Original Score-Feature Film for Fox Searchlight's The Sessions at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) on November 15, 2012 at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood. 2012 HMMA Receives Rave Reviews

HOLLYWOOD, CA- Nov 16, 2012: The Hollywood Music in Media Awards stepped up its game this year at the beautiful and historic Fonda Theater in Hollywood, wowing all in attendance. With a jam-packed celebrity filled red carpet, the event has excelled in stature. Though the HMMA is technically about awards, the evening proved wildly entertaining for the audience. HMMA sponsors A Symphony of Hope

The HMMA is proud to have been a sponsor of this charity fundraising dinner with silent auction and world premiere concert held August 3rd at the open-air California Plaza in downtown Los Angeles. This event raised over $120,000 dollars for Hands Together, an organization in Haiti that develops educational programs, feeding programs and medical clinics. Read more
