(Hollywood, CA) – September 12, 2017 – The Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) will announce the nominees for SCORE and SONG in all visual media on October 23rd. The deadline for submission is October 6, 2017.The deadline for submission is October 6, 2017. The HMMA nominations have historically been representative of the nominees and winners of key award shows announced months later including last year’s HMMA live-action song winner “City of Stars” (LA LA LAND) by Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul prior to winning the Golden Globe and Oscar for “Best Song” as well as the HMMA song winner for Animation, “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” (TROLLS) by Justin Timberlake, Max Martin and Shellback prior to winning the Grammy for “Best Song for Visual Media”. Two years ago, the Golden Globe nominees for film score mirrored the HMMA’s selections. The HMMA’s categories include “Outstanding Music Supervision,” a classification added this year by the TV Academy for the EMMYs. The HMMA has recognized the role of music supervisors since its inception in 2009. The 2017 HMMA event will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017 at The Avalon 1735 N. Vine Street, Hollywood, CA 90028.
