HMMA TESTIMONIALS

May 15, 2023

"I'm not sure you get to hear this as often as you should, but THANK YOU. The awards you've created mean a lot more than the event or the award itself: they have become an opportunity for people like me to cross paths with like-minded individuals, and have a shot at having a career or, as was my case, reinventing ourselves professionally".

Dear Brent, I wanted to apologize to you and the Hollywood Media Awards Team for not having thanked you sooner! As you can see, this wonderful award is now artfully placed upon my ‘beautiful objects’ shelf, with much gratitude for such a special recognition!! I must also apologize to you (all) for not being able to attend the event!

There must have been an assemblage of very interesting and gifted people there…I have to say that the songs in the category I was nominated for were all superb and I’m actually very surprised and delighted that ‘Requiem For A Private War’ was awarded this acknowledgement amongst such outstanding company. It was written from the heart, in homage to one of the most courageous and exceptional war correspondents the world has ever known.

I was privileged to meet Marie Colvin about a year before she was killed in Holms.. and I earnestly wanted the song to honor her legacy. So THANK YOU SO MUCH.. for the nomination and for this gorgeous trophy, which I already treasure..With very best wishes and much appreciation

“I get a lot of invitations. I appreciate every one of them, but I don’t always show up. However, I did show up at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards in November last year and presented awards for film, TV and video game. What a thrill! I follow the HMMA on Twitter. You could say I’m involved. Music should make you want to cry, dance, drive fast, get with your honey, sing. Music always makes you feel something. Visual entertainment without music is simply not worth seeing. At the HMMA, you are likely to run across the most talented individuals…music supervisors, composers, producers and incredible, fun, fresh, emerging artists. I know how important the HMMA is to music artists. The HMMA producers know all there is to know about ambiance, passion, exploration and the delicacy of music and performance. When you hear about HMMA, or any event connected to it, do yourself a favor, take part! It sets a new standard of music appreciation. Bravo!”
~ Eric Roberts, Oscar Nominated Actor, HMMA Presenter / Co-Host ~
“I’m honored to be on the advisory board for the Hollywood Music in Media Awards along with Nile Rodgers, John Debney and other music industry folks! It was a thrill to receive the HMMA’s Outstanding Career Achievement Award at the MIMI conference last November. Surrounded by family, friends and all those young artists was a great experience. Having Skunk Baxter there, saying those kind words and playing guitar with me on stage was a real treat. I think what the HMMA is doing for the music scene is something special and I’m proud to be associated with such a fine organization.”
~ Dave Mason, Artist, R&R Hall of Fame, HMMA Advisory Board ~
“I was honored to be a part of the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. The event was packed with the leading music supervisors and composers along with many of the freshest musical talent in Hollywood. It was exciting to watch the curtain open and see my cellist for Ironman 2, Tina Guo performing on stage. I highly recommend Hollywood Music in Media and the awards show to anyone who is a part of music in media or who wants to learn more about it.
~ John Debney, film Composer – Ironman 2, Passion of The Christ, HMMA Career Achievement recipient ~
“Thank you once again for the recognition. All the HMMA nominations that I’ve received in the past few years have truly been life-changing, and I fully support the work you and your team are doing to appreciate composers in media.”
~ Isaias Garcia (Best Score – Mobile Video Game) ~
“Such a great time last night. Honestly, I did not realize how cool it would be to actually win something. Ha. My wife loves me more now.”
~Dylan Berry (Best Score – Special Feature)~
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me part of the HMMA’S for a second time and for giving me a chance to be judged by your committee and deemed best Country Artist. It certainly will help in the momentum I have been gaining these last 2 years. I already have been receiving interest from numerous important contacts from just the HMMA’s BUZZ alone!!”
~ Tom MacLear (MacLear & Waters) ~
“We are jazz nominee “Partners In Time” and I just want to tell you how great the whole two day event was! And to thank you and all your organization for this unforgettable experience for all of us!! It was just super, and one of the best parts was connecting and meeting so many like minded musicians and artists and from all over the world. Awesome!!”
